I survived the G8 craziness!
hello everyone :)
just wanted to write a quick note to say I am all good and well, I am back from Scotland after an absolutely amazingly intense and surreal 10 days of protest against the G8 summit. I won't go into lots of detail on the blog cos perhaps not everyone wants to know the mischief I've been making ;) I intend to write up a piece and send it to indymedia if you are interested.
I am back in Nottingham now recovering and actually getting sick of the hot weather (I know, I sound terrible saying that to you all!). Plan of attack now is to head down south end of next week to spend some time at a cool farm called Stepping Stones, then on to be a Steward at the Big Green Gathering which is in Devon. Looking forward to going down to Southern England.
I guess I should say a bit about the London bombings, I was staying in an eco-village in rural Scotland when the news came in, and everyone was confused and lots of people knew Londoners and were worried about them. It is a huge deal over here of course and today there was 2 minutes silence at 12noon. But mt view is that as tragic as it is 1,000s of people die as a result of terrorism everyday, yet we don't have minutes of silence for them. And the irony of it all is that the powers that be will use this as way of bringing in more repressive laws and suppressing peoples freedoms. Sorry that turned into a rant!
Hope you all are OK and sending my love and bestest wishes
