Entry number 54
yes, quite!
So, things have really slowed up on the blog front recently for which I wholeheartedly apologise, just having too much fun ya know?! Nah, more likely is that I'm working full time at the cafe, providing the borough of Southwark (said souh-ik) with their daily fill of panini's and latte's (said lat-ayes). But thats all good cost saving every penny I can to have the summer off, last day is in mid June then Renee and I are off on our festival party mission! Stewarding at 5 festies, and in between gonna find nice beaches or spots to stop and relax, or who knows what might happen! Looking forward to travelling again, and esp. ma and pa coming over in August, superdupa!
But for now still really lovin London, walked around Hyde Park yesterday on my day off, then checked out the Victoria and Albert museum..
The MayDay Fayre mentioned in previous post went off - karaoke went on for a good, hmmm, 16 hours straight and I'm not ashamed to say yours truely was one of the keener ones to take the mic, although it was more of a sad group singalong... then there were phat ;) tunes down in the basement till the wee hours.. had another such gig here last weekend too, the courier DJs put on a party and a couple of hundred people came to it - nice to have a wicked party on and only have to climb upstairs to go home!! Oh, and the funniest thing about that night was I kicked the evening off with Eurovision!! Its this cheesey, full on patriotic competition, this year hosted by Greece, got to see the wonderful talents of 24 nations including Moldovia and Armeina.. Finland won (might have made it to the NZ press?!) with a hilarious and spectacular heavy metal performance - GO FINLAND!! Twas a funny slice of European (anti) culture..
Hasn't been all party party though I must stress, recently taken up Bikram yoga, as my NZ mate Adi (with whom I spent a wonderful day) gave me her monthly pass to use up.. its like doing full on stretches and contortions in a sauna you sweat like a sweaty thing, and at the time curse yourself for such self inflicted torture, but at the end (its 90mins long) you feel really good! So yeah, go the yoga styles!
Also been going to beginners Italian in preparation for September; Mum, Dad and I are going over. So thats been cool, getting back into some edumication, and it was only down the road at the local library!
Mightily excited about this weekend, going up to Manchester to see lovely kiwi mate Maddie! Juliet, who's been living in London too, is also going up so it'll be a great girls long weekend and proper wicked to see her again... and then she is coming down here for a huge Fat Freddies Drop amazing spectacular skankin event..
Umm, on the mischief front I've been pretty good (or bad, depending..!), done a few petrol/climate chaos actions including the Shell AGM last week, and working hard towards the climate camp later in the summer.. in fact we are hosting a national gathering here at St Matts in a few weeks, up to a hundred people coming so better get the place lookin nice..
And sorry haven't got any photos to show you all, just sold my camera so I can get another, smaller and better one, AND the photos I did take on a disposable got lost by the developing place - great! Really annoyed as had all my smashing Cornwall pic's, but what can ya do.
Must admit, been keepin an eye (thats just the one of course) on the rugby also, some of you might cringe a little here but GO CANTERBURY!! :) beats the very over the top obsession with England and the World Cup over here at the mo anyways, so many flags its tiresome, can't wait for the jolly thing to be over.
Cool bananas, will leave it there and go away happy that I've finally spent some quailty blog time, love to you all - I miss you loads and, hey - why not email me your news and random thoughts on life? Would be lovely to hear from you (YES I MEAN YOU)
